Show Sessions

Preparation for an 8am start begins way, waaaay before the sun is even up... and as morning breaks, horses are unloaded at the bustling showgrounds and a busy show day begins. The smell of hoof black, hay and hairspray. A horse on the lunge whinnies shrilly, and a rider up the way shrieks with joy when she realises she remembered her gloves after all.

This is the aspect of equestrian competition I'm most interested in as a photographer. The nervous energy before the class, the anticipation, the relief, the celebrations. The highs and lows, whatever they may be on any particular day. Invite me and my lens to come along with you to your next event, let me capture these moments for you. When you go to this much effort, it should be documented!
